#thirty three (and a third)

I am exactly one third
of the way through my 100 makes
and it is one third
of the way through the year.

I haven't knitted anything
as large as this for a long time.

It has taken about three weeks
but worth every minute
as I love it!

The pattern for this fern shawl
is from Tiny Owl Knits
I love this website
all of the patterns are beautiful.

It was knitted in the
stranded intarsia method
in two colours
with tassels at the ends and the point.

So that is number thirty three,
the third is this tapestry
which my neighbour Charis
asked if I would like to finish for her.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch .......

Really wish I'd called my blog
"Meanwhile, back at the ranch...",
......maybe the next one.

Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch (1976) Poster

Anyway this is what
has been happening "back at the ranch"

Some lovely things arrived
in the post on Saturday.

A handcrafted Swedish Butter Knife
made from beech
and some handmade Porcelain Buttons.

All from this lovely Etsy shop
called Clod and Pebble

And the lovely bamboo chopping board
is from an offer on at Morrisons!

Today's song has to be this

Where have all the cowboys gone?

#thirty two

Number thirty two

I thought I would make use of
the beautiful sunny weather
and try another
cyanotype print

The key to my heart,
a little miniature.

The forecast says the rain will move in tonight
but today was a good drying day.

A time to sow

Spring has definitely arrived
though sadly the forecast says
the weather will take a dip
at the weekend.

A time to sow,

Honesty and dwarf sunflowers.

While I was sitting in the sun
this little fella must have
crawled onto my cardigan
as I saw him wriggling about
when I sat down for tea,
luckily he didn't get squished

Safely back on the lavender.

I've noticed on my stats
that there's been a few viewings of my blog,
please say a "hi" in the comments
I'd love to know who was reading this :)

Today's music has been
Alexi Murdoch,
I love "Orange Sky"

and finished reading
God's Own Country by Ross Raisin
disturbing!

Spring & string

Springtime has arrived!

Since Easter Sunday
I've watched the trees and plants
turn from bare
to buds and shoots of new green leaves.

The mini daffs are in full bloom
and I even have some double-headers.

Great news, I won a ball of Nutscene string
which I was very happy about
as it is my favourite string
(if you can have a favourite string!?)

They sell some beautiful things
check out their website

Enjoy the sunshine everyone
and get some music on,
today is Record Store Day.
Turn it up and sing along
its good for the soul!

Today I'll be listening to
a playlist of 60's stuff
wish I still had it all on vinyl

#thirty

We have had beautiful weather
over the Easter holidays
so
I thought I would
make use of the sun and try some
cyanotype printing

I made several prints
last summer
and I know I still need
to perfect the technique

These are some tiny flowers
I dried, I love how
the very fine detail shows

These are the twigs
donated by Ethan.
They remind me of spider's webs
when you look at the whole print.

Am on a total 70's vibe music-wise this week
listening to Hotel California by the Eagles

Lavender

The two new lavender plants
are potted up
and sitting in their
new places at the front of my house

complete with wire decorations

Its been a beautiful
sunny Easter weekend

A neighbour asked if I sold
the wire decorations
so I made her a spiral one
and she gave me
a wire heart

That's what craft is all about

Ribbon

This cloudy/vapour trail
was floating around in my sky
this morning

Looks like a twirly ribbon

And it is going to be
another warm and sunny day

Roots

I love to see something
in something else

The hyacinths have died,
when emptying the pots
the roots looked like a wild sea

#twenty nine

Happy Easter everyone

Hope you are enjoying
the holiday weekend

Make number twenty nine

A miniature of a weekend
camping in the country.

Made with moss, stones,
campervan, twigs and little people

Men always pee against a tree!

Climbing a few crags

Today's song has to be

"Go wild, go wild, go wild
in the country....."
